We arrived in Zlarin early and saw several gajetas with large crews. A bit of a strange phenomenon that I attributed to coincidence. Not long after, during brunch, I realized that the change observed at the regatta last year had really taken place. The Zlarin regatta Latinsk idrun na kureja has become IN again. I remembered that last year the atmosphere was reminiscent of the old days when sailing in Zlarin was a big event. A few bad years reduced the number of visitors, but thanks to the persistent work of the organizers, visitors came again. The joy of good sailing has returned to Zlarin.

In addition to the active organizers, we were welcomed in Zlarin by the falkuša Mikula. A specimen of the mythical falkuša created from a pile of broken wood from the last falkuša about thirty years ago. Wherever it appears, it attracts special attention. It is not the small and agile gajeta of northern Dalmatia, but a vessel adapted to the requirements of Komiža fishermen: speed of navigation and high carrying capacity. It is a pleasure to watch it demonstrate its capabilities.

The organizers have chosen a route that will largely support fast sailing, which this year was full of surprises. In the morning and until the start, a nice south wind blew. Shortly before the start, the wind changed to a maestral, which changed its strength quite a bit during the sailing. After dinner, when we were returning to Šepurina, the maestral strengthened to an unpleasant level. However, nothing spoiled the feeling of a good regatta and successful organization.
