The assessment that was made a long time ago that traditional sailors like to come to ©epurina has been confirmed once again. People from Murter and Betina came without calculating. People from Jezera and Tisno in large relative numbers. Likewise, people from Krapanj, Srima and Ugrinię from Pa¹man. I believe I have not forgotten to mention anyone. So, even for ©epurina, there was a good turnout, and considering the recent corona, a great event. Finally!
A light bora with a sky full of clouds means that anything can be expected. Before the start, the bora strengthened a little, which added liveliness to the otherwise cheerful atmosphere. Similar to Zlarin and Betina regatta, a relatively short route was sailed, and given the good wind and weather, everything was fast. Masters have no room for error because similar masters are blowing at their necks or sterns. Those who are inclined to show touristic sailing, which should be the main goal of such an event, have time for a nice, relaxed sailing. People want to socialize without thinking about the epidemiological distance, the quality of masks and the ventilation of the space, so the short sailing suited them perfectly.
This regatta demonstrated basic sailing tactics well in practice. Some skippers want to sail as fast as possible, while others are looking for the shortest route with as few turns as possible. After just a few hundred meters, two groups separated. For a while, it seemed as if some of them had made a big mistake, For a while, it seemed as if some had made a gross mistake, but towards the end of the sailing it turned out that they were right. A very interesting example of sailing for tactical experts, very good for analysis.
When I registered for the regatta, they told me that as a photographer I could not get a T-shirt. They said that it was not planned for some kind of vessel from which I would follow the regatta. I did not ask about dinner because that answer could have been quite dark. I somehow solved the problem, but the question remains of a truly unexpected attitude from which I concluded that the organizers do not understand the value and importance of photographs. They need basic education.
