Betina 15.8.2021.

'Will or not,' will or not? 'Will!

They will sail in Betina! Covid-19 does not give up.

As a significant return to normal, I see the fact that the director of the regatta warned the participants about the wind and sailing, and not about covid-19. Not everyone listened to him carefully or understood him, so a large number of ships had a hard time sailing out of the port of Betina. The first buoy in Plitka vala was relatively easy to reach. However, after the turn, problems began. The light wind weakened so the sailing became very slow.

I first saw a new star in the port of Betina. Gajeta Marija of the Betina Museum of Wooden Shipbuilding. Very similar to gajeta Cicibela but somewhat smaller. When I mention Cicibela, it is worth mentioning that she is already 90 years old. The gig 620 also appeared among the ships. This ship, the work of Mile Jadrešić, was exhibited at the Nautical Fair in Zagreb in 2015. It was made for the client from Novigrad as a replica of the flagship of the Austro-Hungarian Navy. Oars are his basic drive, but when a mast and a sail are added, he can sail on regattas of traditional boats.

Among the novelties is the crew of the Filipi shipyard from Sukošan on the Klementina gajeta. This gajeta was built in their shipyard, so it sailed in Kaprije and Jezera under the names Baba Cvita, Baba Celina, Baba Luce, and now the builders have bought it and proudly sail it under the name Klementina.
