With full sails in front of one of the most beautiful small villages on Jadran, the race started with the start signal. This scenery alone is a celebration of tradition, sea and Mediterranean culture. The unfavorable wind kept the boats near the houses in the start. While one group headed twoards Punta, the other group set a course south twoards Trstevica, hoping to get a tactical advantage.

The heavy leuts were the last to leave the starting area. The local VD998 was joined by the legendary Bazokic and Jaruh.

Driven by maestral, gajete spread out across the whole space between Prvic Tijat and Vodice. Side-by-side sailing was best seen at the first buoy near Vodice. The crews struggle to turn, avioding other boats by inches. Very exciting, especially for those with competitive spirits.

Even the master photografer Ivo Pervan found interesting motives. His words of praise are very special for the people of Sepurine. Turns out we're not the only ones who think this is a beautiful village.

During this time, there was a boat saving drama. One of the boats caught too much wind and crossed the fine line between fast sailing and sinking. This isn't the first time that's happened, niether is it the last time. This event is just a reminder that these boats were designed for transport and fishing, not racing.

Tention was high until the very end of the regata. Although heavy, the leut managed to fight with two other, lighter and faster, gajetas until the very end. The Dumina from Tribunj was the winner, followed up by Mala Matulica from Biograd, with the Jaruh from Murter just a few meters behind it. Around thirty other boats fillowed these victorious boats.

With the last group of boats arriving, the spectators have already forgotten who had won the race. The final standings aren't important to anyone. All that matters is the celebration of the sea, the boats and the culture. Everyone agrees the regata was a huge success, and the competitors said they will remember it for a long time.
