The Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia and the Trieste branch of the Lega Navale Italiana association organized a photo exhibition entitled CROATIA, HOME OF THE SEA. The exhibition is the work of the Cronaves association and the Ministries of Foreign and European Affairs. The association was founded to deal with the promotion and preservation of Croatian maritime heritage. There are three heads of work mode. The first is the organization of the presentation of heritage at international festivals (Brest, Morbihan, Sete...). The second is the organization of the Dani u Vali festival in Stari Grad on the island of Hvar, which is increasingly gaining serious national and international significance. The third is the organization of photo exhibitions either as part of a manifestation or as an independent event. All of them have in common the recognition of Croatia as a country with a long and valuable maritime tradition. The authors of the exhibition are members of the Cronaves association: Andrina Luić, Boško Lučev, Vislav Torre and Dubravka Pajk.
The association Lega Navale Italiana is a group of about 40 branches that were created with the primary task of helping the children and families of fallen sailors after the First World War. Today, they mainly deal with nautical education. The association building is located next to the historic lighthouse at the entrance to the harbor. From its terrace there is a great view of the marina, the city and the hills in the distance from which the famous Trieste bora visited us.
The guests at the opening of the exhibition praised the photographs in their chosen words, which particularly impressed us photographers and convinced us that the task set by the Cronaves association was successfully fulfilled.
